In 2011 Steven joined A J Nolan (Tony) as Staff Solicitor. In 2016, Tony and Steven entered into partnership and formed the legal firm of Nolan & Lu Lawyers. Steven is proficient in both English and Mandarin. He has found this to be an advantage, particularly in litigation matters where the Mandarin Language is involved. Steven acts for clients in Commercial and Property Law, Disputes Resolution and Litigation, Relationship Property matters and Immigration.

Before working in the Legal Profession, Steven was a qualified Barista. Prior to joining A J Nolan, he worked as In-house Counsel in the Taipei office of a transnational corporate and worked in a leading law firm in Taiwan.

Steven believes in serving the community as well as his clients. He has served as the Vice President of the Chinese Sunshine Society based in Hamilton helping migrants integrate with the local community. He is a sitting committee member of the New Zealand Chinese Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Rotorua Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Throughout the years, Steven have provided free legal seminars to the community to help people gain basic legal knowledge to protect themselves during their daily lives. In the early years of his legal career, he helped chaired the Young Lawyer’s association for the Waikato Bay of Plenty Branch of the Law Society.
